Promise Bridge - Eileen Clymer Schwab

Promise Bridge - Eileen Clymer Schwab

Author(s): Eileen Clymer Schwab
Publisher: NAL Trade
Date : 2010

There is an unexpected twist towards the end of the book that initially left me feeling "how convenient", but on second thought, made me realize how cleverly the truth had been hidden in the earlier chapters of the book.

Even though it is a historical fiction novel, the elements of suspense, discovery, friendship and even romance are universally appealing and riveting. It is not bogged down by dry historical fact, but rather the history is neatly woven into the story, teaching as it intrigues. It is never preachy or boring. I was very impressed with this book and anxiously await the next work Schwab takes on, as I am sure it will be a winner as well. This book is one for your keeper shelf, right alongside Gone With The Wind and other favorite Civil War fiction.
