After the Fire, a Still Small Voice is a very good, well-written story that takes place in Australia. There are two narratives--one takes place in the present and one takes place in the 1960s. In the present, we have Frank, a man who has just broken up with a girlfriend and has returned to his family's shack in the forest to sort out his life. In the past, we have Leon, a teenage boy trying to make it through his teen years in one piece. At first, the relationship between the two narratives is unclear, but as the novel progresses, Evie Wyld leaves you little clues as to why both of their stories are included. Wyld's narrative is
